City of Toronto releases official election results
  
Official results of the November 10 municipal election were released today by
Toronto Elections. Mayor-elect David Miller received 299,385 votes (43 per
cent), followed by John Tory at 263,189 votes (38 per cent). A total of 699,483
eligible voters cast ballots.

The official results indicate voter turnout was 40 per cent this year.
Following revisions to the voters' list between September 26 and election day,
there were 1,740,889 eligible voters in the city of Toronto.

The results, available online at http://www.toronto.ca/elections, are broken
down by office (mayor, councillor and trustee) and indicate the number of votes
candidates received in each of the City's 44 wards. The results also show the
number of votes cast in each of the 1,926 polls, including advance voting.
