Media Advisory: Night of Knights gala helps pay for bus ride
On Friday, February 7, the 5th annual Night of Knights will offer food, music
and fun as the community, volunteers, staff and residents of Bendale Acres
raise funds for a new specially equipped bus. The goal is to raise over $60,000
during the gala, which will include a gourmet dinner, a silent auction, special
draws, and an evening of great music provided by the Mississauga Big Band Jazz
Ensemble. And to help in the festivities, Global Television personality Beverly
Thomson will emcee the evening.

Friday, February 7

Key times:
Reception: 6 p.m.
Dinner: 6:40 p.m.
Speeches/Presentations: 7:50 p.m.
Big band: 8:40 p.m.

Delta Toronto East Hotel
2035 Kennedy Rd.

The Night of Knights is sponsored by the Father James J. Farrell Council (No.
3296) of the Knights of Columbus, the Bendale Acres Volunteers and a variety of
corporate partners.

Bendale Acres has a long tradition of providing quality long-term care to its
302 residents. Located in the former city of Scarborough, the residents rely on
a customized, wheelchair-accessible bus to enjoy outings, special events, and
just to see the sights of our city. As well, seniors in the community rely on
this same bus for escorted transportation to the Adult Day Centre at Bendale
Acres. But the existing bus needs to be replaced, and through the Night of
Knights, the community is stepping up to make this possible.
