Toronto Special Events wins international awards
Toronto Special Events - At a gala ceremony in Minneapolis, Minnesota on August
11, 2003, the International Special Events Society awarded Toronto Special
Events two of their annual ISES Esprit Awards. The unit of the City of
Toronto's Economic Development, Culture and Tourism department was recognized
for their excellence in Technical Production and Entertainment Production for
the 36th annual Cavalcade of Lights Festival presented by Scotiabank, which was
held on November 30, 2002.

For the Technical Production award, which honours technical or design services
for the special event industry such as rental, tenting lasers, lighting, studio
visual and special effects, Toronto Special Events beat out tough competition
from Jaya, Malaysia and Elmhurst, Illinois. The Entertainment Production award
honours the producer, choreographer, designer or entertainers of event
entertainment. Other nominees from that category came from Atlanta, Georgia and
Long Beach, California.

International Special Events Society (ISES) honours special event industry
excellence through its prestigious awards program, the ISES Esprit Awards The
Esprit Awards fuel a spirit of competition within designated categories. The
categories within the Esprit De Corps Awards recognize the best and most
creative within the special events industry. Esprit Awards gain global
visibility and recognition for ISES members through general participation. The
program honours professionals who exhibit a "spirit of excellence" in their
