Media Advisory: Urbanist Richard Florida links Toronto's creative capital to economic prosperity
  
Richard Florida, a professor at Carnegie Mellon University and author of The
Rise of the Creative Class, will be in Toronto to discuss a study he
co-directed, titled Competing on Creativity: Placing Ontario Cities in North
American Context.

Members of the media will have the opportunity to meet with Richard Florida and
co-author Meric S. Gertler, Co-Director of the Program on Globalization and
Regional Innovation Systems at the University of Toronto's Munk Centre for
International Studies, to discuss their research and ideas:

Following this, Richard Florida and Meric S. Gertler will be presenting the
results of the study to over 300 of the city's business, arts and culture,
social and political leaders, examining its impact and significance for Toronto.

The formal presentation will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a question-and-answer
session to follow.
