Unique culinary events tantalize tastebuds and create memories
Toronto Special Events -- The excitement of Winterlicious presented by American
Express expands this year with the addition of new program elements. Unusual
gala dinner packages at some participating restaurants will allow guests to eat
delectable meals followed by dancing, unique tours and other rare experiences.
These mouth-watering events hosted by some of Toronto's finest restaurants are
not to be missed. Reservations will be accepted starting December 15. American
Express© Cardmembers automatically go to the Front of the Line® to book a
Winterlicious event beginning December 12, 2003 (to qualify for early
reservation period from January 8 to 12, 2004 purchase must be charged in full

On Friday, February 6, The Taste of Liberty at the Liberty Grand (Liberty Grand
Entertainment Complex - Exhibition Grounds) will serve up glamour and elegance.
Best known as caterers to the stars and hosting many city-wide gala events. The
Liberty Grand throws open its doors during Winterlicious and welcomes everyone
to experience the grandeur and opulence of the venue's four exquisite
ballrooms. Mixing and mingling is on the menu while many food stations will
provide sampling of delicious international fare. For more information on this
event, the public can call 416-LIBERTY (542-3789) and to purchase tickets, call
TicketMaster at 416-870-8000. The Taste of Liberty at the Liberty Grand begins
with cocktails at 7 p.m. (dinner will be served at 8 p.m.) and costs $50 per
person (plus taxes).

The culinary glamour begins on Monday, February 2 at CENTRO grill and wine bar
(2472 Yonge Street). This gala is an exclusive evening of dinner and dancing
with live musical entertainment at one of Toronto's most celebrated
restaurants. Executive Chef Bruce Woods and his culinary team will prepare an
exquisite five-course menu paired with wines selected by Centro's sommeliers.
This rare event is sure to be popular so early reservations are reccommended
and can be made by calling 416-483-2211. The CENTRO Gala begins at 7 p.m. and
costs $120 per person (plus taxes and gratuity).

A revolving evening of fun is up next with 360 The Restaurant at the CN Tower
Gala (301 Front Street West) on Thursday, February 5. This spectacular evening
features wonderful wines, wonderful food and a wonderful revolving view. Guests
will enjoy wine sampling and hors d'oeuvres in Horizons before moving to the
award-winning 360 Restaurant for a mouth-watering menu paired with matching
wines. This unique experience also includes a tour of the world's highest wine
cellar. The 360 The Restaurant at the CN Tower Gala kicks off at 6:30 p.m. and
costs $80 per person (plus taxes and gratuity). Reservations can be made by
calling 416-362-5411.

For an inside peek into one of the city's finest restaurants, guests can
reserve a spot at the Herbs Restaurant & Catering Gala (3187 Yonge Street) on
Wednesday, February 4. Guests will experience Herbs Restaurant at its best
while indulging in this creative stand-up style dinner. The behind the scenes
peek includes observing demonstrations by Master Chef Antony Nuth while
sampling ten divine courses of individually prepared foods along with a paired
wine. The Herbs Restaurant & Catering Gala begins at 6:30 p.m. and costs $80

A Sunday morning tradition gets jazzed up at the Champagne Brunch at the
Rosewater Supper Club (19 Toronto Street) on Sunday, February 8. Known for its
sophistication, luxurious surrounding and delicious food, the Rosewater offers
the quintessential dining experience. Diners can revel in the decadence of a
Champagne Brunch featuring an array of delicacies prepared by Liberty Group's
Executive Chef Michael Ewing and Rosewater's own Executive Chef Richard Andino.

a.m. and 1:00 p.m. - and the cost is $50 per person (plus taxes and gratuity).

As well as these fantastic gala events, Winterlicious is offering a special pub
pass. The Passport to the Royal Dukes Pub Family allows diners to pick up a $10
passport at any of the Royal Duke Pub locations, including Duke of Argyle, Duke
of Kent, Duke of Richmond, Duke of Westminster and Duke of York. The pass
allows its holder to tour any three of the five pubs and sample beer with food
pairings. The passport is vaild from January 31 to February 8 at any of the

There is no better way for Torontonians to challenge Jack Frost then to pull on
a toque and venture out to Nathan Phillips Square for the sizzling outdoor
Winterlicious BBQ presented by American Express. From Greek and Thai to Cajun
and Afgan cuisine, visitors can sample from 20 restaurateurs as they offer up
an international selection of food from the grill to the smooth sounds of live
music. The Winterlicious BBQ takes place from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday,
February 8.
