Weekend entertainment awe-inspiring!

Toronto Special Events - New to this year's calendar is the Cavalcade of Lights
Weekends of Wonder. The festive spirit continues every Friday and Saturday
evening (December 5 - 20 from 6 - 10 p.m.) with encore performances of The
Spheres theatrical orbs, unique seasonal wares in the Cavalcade of Lights
Marketplace and family skating parties hosted by Toronto's favourite radio
stations. With so many things for the whole family to enjoy, Nathan Phillips
Square is the perfect December destination.

Each Weekend of Wonder skating party includes an encore performance of the
spectacular show The Spheres, which will make its Toronto debut at the
Cavalcade of Lights First Lighting Celebration. Australia's Strange Fruit
returns to Toronto with shows every Friday and Saturday night from December 5 -
20 beginning at 7 p.m. Continuing to push theatrical boundaries, The Spheres is
a 7-person performance using Strange Fruit's trademark 4.5 metre flexible
poles. Introducing giant orbs of luminous beauty containing performers
gradually emerging, The Spheres take a whimsical look at physics, the miracle
of birth and humanity's existential relationship to the planet. See the First
Lighting Celebration Backgrounders page for more information on Strange Fruit.

Each Weekend of Wonder evening culminates with a skating party featuring live
music and hosts from Toronto's favourite radio stations. The Weekend of Wonder
sponsored by Alliance Atlantis Motion Picture Distribution and The Bay on
December 5 & 6 will introduce audiences to the new film Blizzard. Stars from
the film will be at Nathan Phillips Square and Aselin Debson will perform her
song from the movie's soundtrack on December 5.

The Government of Canada will sponsor the Weekend of Wonder on December 12 and
13.
December 12 will have a boot-kicking feel when the skating party is hosted by
Country 95.3. Live music by Fresh Horses will add to the down home atmosphere
of the downtown skating party. December 13 marks the return of CHFI's
ever-popular annual live broadcast from 1 to 4 p.m. A skating party will follow
the broadcast with live music by Carmela Long from 6 to 10 p.m.

The Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership will sponsor the Weekend of Wonder on
December 19 and 20. FLOW 93.5 kicks up the vibes on December 19 as their DJs
host this Weekend of Wonder. Audiences can skate while listening to DJs spin
and live R&B band, Grapejelly. On December 20, 2003 hosts from AM740 will lead
a magical evening. The countdown to Christmas will include live music
featuring some of the all time favourites performed by The Nomads.

Festival partner Starbucks Coffee will be at Nathan Phillips Square each Friday
and Saturday offering samples of their special holiday beverage.
