Toronto's child care system is in crisis and needs immediate help from the
province.

Olivia Chow, chair of Toronto's Community Services Committee, will be joined at
a news conference tomorrow by a distinguished group of citizens, including
Charles Coffey, an executive with a major Canadian chartered bank and
children's advocate, and June Callwood, co-chair, Campaign Against Child
Poverty.

Date: Tuesday, March 4, 2003
Time: 10 a.m.
Location: Media Studio, Main Legislative Building, Queen's Park

The news conference will launch a public campaign to save child care in
Toronto, and will challenge the Premier to follow through on his recent
commitment to a new deal for municipalities.
