Yonge-Dundas Square Opening Celebration
  
What
Toronto's most anticipated meeting place, Yonge-Dundas Square, officially
launches with a spectacular show incorporating live music, cirque performances
and fireworks.

When
Friday, May 30, 5 - 11 p.m.

5 - 8 p.m. Performances by John Alcorn with Strings, Caché and Jesse Ketchum
Pan Vibrations

8 - 8:45 p.m. Performance by members of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra

8:45 - 9 p.m. Official remarks by Mayor Mel Lastman, Councillor Kyle Rae and
Chairman of the Yonge-Dundas Square Board of Management, Ron Soskolne

9 p.m. The Square is officially launched with pyro, confetti, zip line and
cirque performances and a Carnival procession featuring 75 drummers from the
Hummingbird Tassa Drummers, Jeng Yi Korean Drumming and Dance troupe, Muhtadi
and the Nubian Drummers and Samba Squad

9:25 p.m. Fireworks finale with live music by members of the Toronto Symphony
Orchestra

9:30 - 10 p.m. Performance by Snow

10 - 11 p.m. Performance by Treble Charger

The Yonge-Dundas Square Opening Celebration will establish the square as
