Toronto pleased with World Health Organization's announcement

TORONTO, Ontario, Canada - Toronto Mayor Mel Lastman and City Officials are
extremely pleased that the World Health Organization (W.H.O.) has removed
Toronto from the list of areas affected by SARS.

"We are pleased and relieved that the W.H.O. reached this conclusion today,"
said Mayor Mel Lastman. "Toronto is the greatest city in the world, with
enormous spirit. We remain a safe and healthy city in which to work, visit and
live."

It will be one month tomorrow since a case of SARS was diagnosed in Toronto.
The last case was diagnosed on April 17.

Toronto is the capital of Ontario and Canada's largest city, with 2.5 million
people. The city offers some of the world's most outstanding restaurants,
hotels, shopping, theatre, galleries, sporting events and more.
