Mayor congratulates Young

Toronto - Mayor Mel Lastman today congratulated the Honourable David Young on
his move from the provincial Attorney General's office to the hot-seat at
Municipal Affairs.

"David has a relationship with this City that stretches back to 1991 when he
was elected as a Trustee for the North York Public School Board," Lastman said.
"He's going to be great for Toronto and I'm looking forward to working with him
in the months ahead."

The Mayor said Young and Associate Minister of Municipal Affairs Tina Molinari
were instrumental in arranging the $64 million package announced by the
province last week to address TTC safety concerns.

He also took the opportunity offered by the Cabinet shuffle to wish Norm
Sterling and Frank Klees well on their new posts. Sterling takes over for Young
as Attorney General and Klees assumes responsibility for the Transportation
portfolio.
