Fuel Cells for Fresh Air! Come see A 21st-century pollution solution

(This media release was issued yesterday by a private communications company
representing Hydrogenics, the City's partner on the fuel cell project.)

Please join the City of Toronto, the Board of Governors of Exhibition Place and
Hydrogenics Corporation at the Canadian National Exhibition's Green Day event
on August 27, 2003 for the unveiling of the first phase of a new clean air
initiative - Fuel Cells for Fresh Air! This extraordinary initiative is another
in a long line of Canadian firsts over the 125-year history of the CNE.

Toronto City Council has approved a three-year project in which the City's
Energy Efficiency Office and its Fleet Services Division, in partnership with
Hydrogenics and the Board of Governors of Exhibition Place, will demonstrate
the unique ability of fuel cell technology to provide clean mobile and
stationary power. The demonstration is designed to show the public, in a
hands-on setting, how hydrogen fuel cells work and how they are fueled.

Phase one of this project unveils a Hydrogenics 50 kW fuel cell stationary
power generator and hydrogen refueler, called the HySTAT?, which is the first
of its kind in Canada. It will show how fuel cells can be used in the near term
to provide clean supplemental power in times of peak demand, such as in the
hottest days of summer when air conditioners strain the system. Also during
the CNE, a John Deere Pro Gator demonstrator vehicle, powered by a Hydrogenics
fuel cell, will demonstrate the benefits of this new power technology and how
refueling can be readily accomplished using HySTAT's hydrogen dispenser.

Please join us for this exciting event!

When: August 27th, 2003
Time: 10:10 am - noon (please arrive a little early)
