Overnight partial closures of the eastbound Gardiner Expressway -- Saturday, June 7 and Sunday, June 8
Works and Emergency Services - An overnight closure of the eastbound Gardiner
Expressway from York Street to Carlaw Avenue will take place on Saturday, June
7 from 1 a.m. to 12 noon and on Sunday, June 8 from 1 a.m. to 12 noon.

The on-ramps to the eastbound Gardiner from Lake Shore Boulevard, Jameson
Avenue, British Columbia Drive and Rees Avenue will also be closed. Access to
the downtown area will be maintained at all times. Traffic exiting the downtown
area to the east can use Lake Shore Boulevard as an alternate route.

The closure is required due to emergency road resurfacing.

"The condition of the asphalt in this section has deteriorated and several
potholes have formed, resulting in potentially dangerous conditions. After the
maintenance activity is complete, motorists will notice a significant
improvement in the quality of the road surface," said Les Kelman, Director of
the City's Traffic Management Centre. "We regret any inconvenience caused as a
result of this road closure and we thank the public for their cooperation."

Alternative traffic routes are available and the public is encouraged to
consider using public transit (TTC and GO) as a convenient, alternative choice.
