City of Toronto Sponsors FlashintheCan: Canada's Flash Festival
Economic Development - The City of Toronto's Economic Development Division is
proud to b sponsor the second annual FlashintheCan: Canada's Flash Festival,
taking place in Toronto, April 14 to 16, 2003. More than 700 people will attend
FlashintheCan, which is being held at the Guvernment/Kool Haus Entertainment
Complex, 132 Queens Quay E.

"FlashintheCan is an exciting event that brings together Toronto's Flash
developers and some of the world's finest Web developers," says Brenda Librecz,
Managing Director of Economic Development for the City of Toronto. "Toronto's
FlashintheCan Festival is Canada's only Flash Festival showcasing Toronto's and
Canada's excellence and leadership in new media to the world."

The City of Toronto's Economic Development Division is working with the new
media industry to support its further development. The City is proud to support
FlashintheCan as a showcase for the capabilities of local companies.

Building on the success and increased demand of the 2002 FlashintheCan, this
year's event has been expanded to three days. During the festival, developers
and world-renowned Flash experts such as Kevin Lynch and Erik Natzke from the
United States and Toronto's Colin Mook, will be on hand for the more than 25
presentations, seminars, and panel discussions. Also included is the
'FlashintheCan Awardshow', which recognizes the best use of Flash in Web

Macromedia Flash is a Web industry standard for high-impact, motion graphics
and interactivity. It is the leading vector technology for designing
high-impact, low-bandwidth Web sites. Currently Macromedia Flash reaches more
than 500 million users worldwide. Toronto companies and developers are at the
forefront of this new pervasive technology.
