Media Advisory: Hockey in the NeighbourHood
  
Toronto Parks and Recreation, the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey club and Scadding
Court Community Centre present the third annual cool outdoor hockey showcase
featuring a series of skills challenges and hockey games between inner-city
youth teams.

Hockey in the NeighbourHood is a program that introduces children from
disadvantaged socio-economic circumstances and diverse cultural backgrounds to
the game of hockey. It also promotes teamwork, responsibility and other life
skills. The program is administered free to approximately 180 boys and girls
between the ages of 6 and 13 who have never played the game and are not playing
in organized leagues.


Date: Saturday, March 1, 2003
Time: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Place: Harry Gairey Artificial Ice Rink ( corner of Bathurst St. and Dundas
St.)
