Toronto Fire Services offers career preparation course
  
Toronto Fire Services is offering a career preparation course for anyone aged
18 years and older who are interested in pursuing a challenging and rewarding
career in fire services.

This accredited course is recognized through Seneca College's Pre-Service
Firefighter Education and Training Program. The curriculum includes hands-on
fire services training by professional firefighters at one of the City of
Toronto's training centres. This course provides a variety of relevant fire
service information and practical experience that can be applied to certificate
completion and aid in pursuing a career in the fire services.

The course will be presented on the following dates:

Starting September 9, a session runs Tuesday evenings for 12 weeks from 6 to 9
p.m., and on one Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Starting September 10, a session runs Wednesday evenings for 12 weeks from 6 to
9 p.m., and one Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Both sessions take place at the Special Operations Training Centre, 200
Bermondsey Rd., south of Eglinton Avenue East, and east of the Don Valley
Parkway.

Interested applicants are invited to submit a brief letter of interest, to be
received no later than noon on Friday, June 6. The letters should include the
applicant's name, address, telephone number(s) and the preferred session
(Tuesday or Wednesday).

Toronto Fire Services will contact the successful applicants by June 20 with
instructions for completing the course application. A fee of $200 is required
with the completed and returned course application.
