Street Buds face-off with Mats Sundin at Rose Avenue Community Centre
  
Councillor Pam McConnell (Ward 28 Toronto Centre-Rosedale), representatives
from City of Toronto Parks and Recreation and Toronto Maple Leafs Captain Mats
Sundin will launch the ninth season of the NHL Street Buds Program this Sunday,
December 7.

The Esso NHL Street Buds provide more than 3,500 boys and girls between the
ages of six and sixteen the opportunity to play organized ball hockey at 44
Toronto Parks and Recreation community recreation centres. Established in
January 1995, the program's goals are skill development, exercise and fun.

The event features a demonstration of Sundin's hockey skills and provides an
opportunity for Street Buds to match Mats' skills in passing, shooting,
goaltending and stick handling through several interactive zones.

Date: Sunday, December 7, 2003

Time: 2 to 3 p.m.

Location: Rose Avenue Community Centre 675 Ontario St.(south of Bloor Street
East, between Sherbourne and Parliament Streets)
