Media Advisory: City of Toronto officially opens Tommy Flynn Playground at Eglinton Park

Parks and Recreation - Representatives from Toronto Parks and Recreation, the
Tommy Flynn Playground Organizing Committee and community residents will
officially open Toronto's newest playground facility at Eglinton Park.

The new playground, named in honour of Tommy Flynn, results from a successful
partnership with corporate sponsors, the Tommy Flynn Playground Organizing
Committee and the City of Toronto. Local community fundraising efforts have
secured in excess of $3,500 towards the construction of the new playground area
and apparatus.

Flynn was a wonderful family man who spent endless hours playing with his
children in Eglinton Park. Inspired by the Adventure Playground in High Park,
the Flynn family and local community residents initiated planning of the new
playground in 1999.

Date: Saturday, October 4

Time: 11 a.m.

Location: Tommy Flynn Playground at Eglinton Park
200 Eglinton Ave. W.
(north side of Eglinton Avenue West,
east of Oriole Parkway)
