A big "Congratulations" to everyone involved: Lastman

Toronto - Mayor Mel Lastman today extended congratulations to everyone involved
in making last night's Molson Canadian/Rolling Stones Rock Toronto Concert a
great success.

"It is a tremendous victory - not just for Toronto, but for all of Canada,"
said Lastman. "I have never been more proud to call Toronto my home!"

Lastman said all City workers, including the police, Emergency Medical Services
and the TTC, deserve special recognition. "These guys worked around the clock
to make sure this concert went off without a hitch," he said.

He also heaped praise on the hundreds of thousands of fans that attended the
event and all the bands that performed - but the Mayor's kindest words were for
the concert organizers who made the impossible happen in under a month.

"On behalf of Toronto City Council and the 2 ½ million people who live in this
great city, thank-you, Molson - and thank you, Rolling Stones," Lastman said.

"It wouldn't have happened without you."
