Fireworks highlight Canada Day celebration at Ashbridges Bay Park

Toronto Parks and Recreation, The BoardWalk BBQ Pub and The Toronto Beaches
Lions will host an evening of family entertainment and fireworks on Tuesday,
July 1, starting at 7 p.m.

The early evening program will feature carnival rides and games, and
refreshments. Councillor Sandra Bussin (Ward 32, Beaches-East York) will be on
site to share in the festivities. A spectacular fireworks display by StarLite
Pyrotechnics Ltd. at 10 p.m. will round out the celebrations.

Ashbridges Bay Park is on Lake Shore Boulevard East, at the foot of Coxwell
Avenue and is easily accessible by public transit. TTC service will be
increased between Queen Street East and the Bloor-Danforth subway on the
Coxwell (22A), Main (64) and Woodbine South (92A) routes to handle the people
expected at the event. The public is strongly urged to use public transit and
leave personal vehicles at home.

Please note that City by-laws prohibit the public from setting off fireworks in
the park.
