On Wednesday, September 10, the Metropolitan Action Committee on Violence

4th Annual Community Safety Night. This night will allow communities to
evaluate and improve the safety of neighbourhoods across Toronto.

To highlight the success of last year's event, METRAC will be presenting safety
awards to Councillor Case Ootes, Councillor Peter Milczyn, Councillor Pam
McConnell, Councillor John Filion, Councillor Raymond Cho and Councillor Brad
Duguid for their success in organizing a community safety walkabout in 2002 in
their wards.

Members of Toronto women's groups, community leaders, City politicians, event
sponsors and METRAC Board of Directors and staff will be on-hand to help
recognize the safety efforts of key Torontonians in 2002, and to show their
support for a safer Toronto in 2003.
