Media Advisory/Photo opportunity: Women who share history of homelessness share their artistry|
| || ||
On October 20, join the artists of the Adelaide Women's Art Studio in
celebrating the fifth year of their art exhibition and sale. The artwork is
created by women who share histories of homelessness and inadequate housing.
The exhibition gives voice to the many wonderful, enthusiastic women who use
the fabric art and art afternoon programs offered at the Adelaide Resource
Centre for Women.
The exhibit begins with a reception at City Hall Rotunda, 100 Queen St. W. and
will continue until October 24, 2003. All proceeds will go to help support the
work of the artists.
The Adelaide Women's Art Studio is housed at the Adelaide Resource Centre for
Women. The program offers a diverse group of women the opportunity to
experience a wide range of challenging and inspiring art mediums in a
supportive environment. The studio is operated jointly with the Adelaide
Resource Centre for Women, a service provided by the Toronto Hostel Services
and Regent Park Community Health Centre.
Program organizers and many of the featured artists will be available for
interviews at the opening reception.
