City of Toronto Kicks Off United Way Campaign
  
A lunchtime extravaganza featuring music, food and fun will highlight the City
of Toronto's 1998 United Way kickoff.

Margaret Rodrigues, Commissoner of the city's Corporate Services Department and
this year's campaign patron, will announce the city's goal for the 1998
campaign. She will be joined by Mayor Mel Lastman, Mike Garrett, the city's
CAO and United Way President Anne Golden. Kevin Frankish of CITY-TV will act
as MC for the event.

There will also be a flag raising ceremony, a barbecue sponsored by M&M Meats,
music from "Legends in Concert" (performers portraying celebrity entertainers),
United Way display booths and an interdepartmental team sports challenge.


Date: Wednesday, September 16

Time: 12 noon - 2:00 p.m.

Location: Metro Square
(park outside of Metro Hall)

In case of rain, event will take place in rotunda of Metro Hall
