Mayor and Minister open renovated shelter

On Tuesday, November 24, Toronto Mayor Mel Lastman and the Honourable Janet
Ecker, Provincial Minister of Community and Social Services, will celebrate the
reopening of Robertson House, a shelter that serves homeless mothers and their
children. After an extensive two-year renovation, the "new" Robertson House is
designed to provide emergency shelter for up to 37 mothers and 78 children.
Guests at this opening will be invited to tour the facility and view this safe
and secure, yet homelike, facility.

Robertson House is directly operated by the City of Toronto's Hostel Services.
Capital costs for the renovations were equally shared by the City of Toronto
and the Ontario Ministry of Community and Social Services.
