High Park Children's Garden Hosts Play Day and Harvest Festival During Fall Season

The High Park Children's Garden, a program that promotes outdoor learning and
ecological awareness through hands-on gardening activities, is hosting two
public events during the autumn season.

"Garden Play for a Healthy Day" will take place on Saturday, September 19 from
12 noon - 4 p.m. This event is part of Healthy City Week and features games and gardening activities for children of all
ages.

"Harvest Festival", a High Park community event celebrating the fall harvest,
will be held on Sunday, October 4 from 12 noon - 4 p.m. The Children's Garden,
in partnership with Colborne Lodge, will host tours of the garden. The event
also includes displays, games, harvest crafts and more.

The High Park Children's Garden opened to schools in May of this year and in
July for community members and day camps.

The school program, limited to 11 schools this past spring, is being opened to
schools across the city this fall. It's expected that more than 2,500 children
will visit the garden by the end of the fall season
