Media Advisory: City of Toronto introduces the 2008 Capital Budget
Deputy City Manager & Chief Financial Officer, Joseph Pennachetti, will present the 2008 Capital Budget and 2009-2012 Capital Plan to the Budget Committee.

The City of Toronto is now considering the 2008 Capital Budget and 2009 to 2012 Capital Plan. This five-year plan determines the capital projects the City will undertake to maintain and/or improve City assets such as roads, bridges, transit, community centres, libraries and more.

Toronto is Canada’s largest city and sixth largest government, and home to a diverse population of about 2.6 million people. It is the economic engine of Canada and one of the greenest and most creative cities in North America. In the past three years, Toronto has won more than 70 awards for quality, innovation and efficiency in delivering public services.
