Media Advisory - Toronto EMS hosts 200 Guides and Cubs for First Aid Day

Two hundred Guides and Cubs will earn their First Aid badges at Toronto Emergency Services (EMS) Headquarters on Saturday, November 17.

Volunteers aged 14-25 from the 1st Downsview Medical Venturers and Rovers (MedVents) will lead the participants through seven topics. They will learn skills, including CPR, how to call 9-1-1, and how to treat wounds, burns, heat exposure and hypothermia.

The MedVents are a Scouts Canada group sponsored by Toronto EMS. Toronto EMS paramedics volunteer their time to support the MedVents by providing emergency first response training. This Saturday, qualified MedVents will share their training with their younger colleagues by helping them earn their First Aid badges.

Date: Saturday, November 17
Times: 9 a.m. to noon, and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Location: Toronto EMS Headquarters, 4330 Dufferin St. (access via Lodestar Rd., off Steeprock Dr.)
