Media Advisory: West District Design Initiative seeks public input
The City of Toronto is holding an information meeting on the study findings of the West District Design Initiative.

Residents are encouraged to provide feedback in preparation for a report to the Planning and Growth Management Committee in November. The consultant’s report and background information is available at

Date: Monday, October 29
Time: 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Location: Etobicoke Civic Centre, 399 The West Mall
(Southeast corner of Burnhamthorpe Rd. and The West Mall)
TTC: Subway to Islington, then Burnhamthorpe bus #50 west to The West Mall

In 2003, Council directed staff to undertake an urban design visioning exercise for three properties in Etobicoke York District:
- Bloor-Islington lands
- Westwood Theatre lands
- Etobicoke Civic Complex

The exercise also studied the possible relocation of the Etobicoke Civic Centre to either Bloor-Islington or the Westwood Theatre Lands to better serve the growing Etobicoke and Humber York communities.
