Slide-A-Thon raises water safety awareness
  
Aquatics staff with City of Toronto Parks, Forestry and Recreation will participate in a non-stop Slide-A-Thon to raise awareness for the Lifesaving Society’s Water Smart® Drowning Prevention initiative.

Date: Friday, July 27
Time: noon to midnight
Location: Northwood Outdoor Pool
15 Clubhouse Crt. (Sheppard Ave., between Jane and Keele Streets)

A total of 150 lifeguards and aquatics instructors will participate in the event with eight to 10 participants continuously sliding into the pool for a total of 12 hours. Members of the public are welcome to attend to cheer on the participants and enjoy a community barbecue.
