Heydon Park Basketball Court opens
Neighbourhood youth, Councillor Adam Vaughan (Ward 20 Trinity-Spadina), Toronto District School Board Trustee Chris Bolton and City of Toronto Parks, Forestry and Recreation staff participated in a basketball game to inaugurate and officially open the Heydon Park Basketball Court today at Heydon Park Secondary School, 70 D’Arcy St. (west of Beverley St.).

Establishing an out door basketball court at Heydon Park Secondary School has involved a number of partners including: neighbourhood residents, Councillor Vaughan and Trustee Bolton. The project received Section 37 Funding from the developers of ShangriLa as part of the campaign to revitalize the youth services and Grange Park.

"The installation of an outdoor basketball court is long-overdue," noted Councillor Adam Vaughan. "We can now begin to work on the next Grange neighbourhood improvement - the installation of a water sculpture feature in the expanded area of Grange Park."

"I am pleased that the school yard will be home for many neighbourhood youth," added Trustee Chris Bolton.
