Media Advisory: City of Toronto opens Assembly Hall
  
Culture Division --- Members of the media are invited to attend the grand
opening of the Assembly Hall, the City's newest community cultural centre.
Situated on the grounds of the former Lakeshore Psychiatric Hospital in the
Lakeshore community, the Assembly Hall has been under renovations since
February 2000. This newly renovated heritage building will provide facilities
for many of Toronto's arts, heritage and community groups.

The opening ceremony will be presided over by Councillor Irene Jones, Gerald
Smith, Chair of the Assembly Hall Advisory Committee, and Rita Davies, Managing
Director of the City of Toronto's Culture Division.
