Toronto Social Services takes spot on city employment stage

Community & Neighbourhood Services -- Toronto Social Services will host an
information booth at the Job, Career and Training Fair on Thursday, April 19
and Friday, April 20 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. By visiting the
booth, clients can get an array of information about the many services and
employment supports available to them through Social Services and Ontario Works.

Toronto Social Services is committed to providing the best resources and
services possible to help people achieve employment and independence from
social assistance. Part of this commitment includes linking clients with
employers, education and training opportunities such as those available at the
job fair.

Events like the Job, Career and Training Fair are important to Toronto Social
Services. They provide opportunities for clients to speak with employers and
compete in the job market, and for Social Services to promote its clients as an
often untapped source of skilled workers.

Nationally sponsored by Monster.ca, the Job, Career and Training Fair will be
open to the general public from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. General admission to the
event is $5, but people who are unemployed or on social assistance can pick up
free admission tickets at any local Toronto Social Services office.

Date: Thursday, April 19 and Friday, April 20, 2001
Time: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Location: Metro Toronto Convention Centre
255 Front Street West,
