Waterparkcity development not part of $12 billion waterfront revitalization
The City of Toronto clarified that the Waterparkcity development announced
earlier today by H&R Developments and Lifetime Homes is to be built on
privately owned land previously owned by Molson Breweries. Development rights
have existed on the site since 1995. Planning applications are being processed
through Community Council and City Council for approval and an Ontario
Municipal Board hearing on the project is scheduled for November. "This is one
of a number of projects on privately owned lands that had prior development
approval and will not be part of the mandate of the Waterfront Revitalization
Corporation," said Urban Development Services Commissioner Paula Dill.
