Media Advisory: City opens first skateboard park
  
Parks and Recreation Division - Members of the media are invited to attend the
official opening of Cummer Skateboard Park, Toronto's first free outdoor
skateboarding playground.


Date: Saturday, September 29

Time: 1 p.m.

Location: Cummer Skateboard Park is located at 6000 Leslie Street, south of
Steeles Avenue East and north of Finch Avenue East, at Cummer and McNicoll
Avenues. It is adjacent to Cummer Community Centre, where parking is available.


Councillor David Shiner will officiate the event with Claire Tucker-Reid,
General Manager, Parks and Recreation, and Jim Bradley, Director, Parks and
Recreation, North District. Together, they will officially open the park with a
ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by an amateur skateboarding contest, prizes,
live music and light refreshments.
