Club Yonge: The Hottest Dance Club in the City
  
Toronto's fantastic nightlife scene welcomes a sizzling addition to its fold as
the Celebrate Toronto Street Festival introduces a festival first? Club Yonge!
On Saturday, July 7, 2001 from 8 - 11 p.m., Yonge Street will be transformed
into Toronto's hottest new dance club with remarkable live music at all four
Celebrate Toronto Street Festival sites - Yonge at Lawrence, Eglinton, St.
Clair and Bloor. Club Yonge promises to be this summer's coolest hot spot,
with warm night air and city lights setting the scene and no line-ups, cover
charge or dress code in effect! So, get your feet on the street and come curb
hopping along Yonge Street!

Yonge & Eglinton: Canadian Rock

Featuring:

54-40 - delivering their own funky blend of rock, pop and soul
Smoother - catchy rock tunes from Hamilton's power pop/rockers

Yonge & St. Clair: Celtic Ceilidh

Featuring:

Celtic Tide - Celtic rock with a youthful twist from these Prince Edward Island
natives
Sons of Maxwell - one of Canada's favourite upbeat folk-pop bands from the

Yonge & Bloor: Celebración Latina

Yonge & Lawrence: Boogie Nights

ABBAmania - outrageous costumes and fantastic choreography for an exciting
re-creation of ABBA in concert!
Superfreak - relive the disco era with Canada's funkiest disco musicians.

Celebrate Toronto Street Festival presented by Shoppers Drug Mart is an amazing
celebration of music, but there's so much more... breathtaking cirque and
thrill shows, world dance, Olympic sports, the glitz of the midway, awesome
sidewalk sales and great food! Admission to the festival is FREE! So, get your
feet on Yonge Street for one of the greatest street festivals on the continent
and Celebrate Toronto!

It all starts on Friday, July 6 at 8:00 p.m. at the Yonge & Eglinton site where
The Big Bid Bash officially opens this year's festival with a special salute to
Toronto's 2008 Olympic Bid. The celebration continues throughout the weekend at
all four festival sites, open 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, July 7 and 11
a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 8.

Ride the Rocket to all four festival sites with the TTC's Special Family Day
Pass. For only $7.50 per day, the Family Day Pass offers up to six people
unlimited travel all day long on Saturday, July 7 and Sunday, July 8.
