Media Advisory: Toronto recognizes bicycle friendly businesses

The seventh annual Bicycle Friendly Business Awards will be presented to five
Toronto area businesses tomorrow, October 24.

Date: Wednesday, October 24

Time: 7:45 p.m.

Location: Mountain Equipment Co-op, 400 King St. W.

At a special ceremony in the morning (October 24), Councillor Olivia Chow will
present the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College with two Bicycle Friendly
Business Awards -- Best Large Business and Best Overall Award.

Time: 10:30 a.m.

Location: Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, 1900 Bayview Ave.

The six awards recognize businesses that support and are innovative in their
promotion of cycling.

A panel of judges has selected five businesses for six awards based on criteria
such as secure/monitored bicycle parking facilities, the percentage of
employees that cycle and the corporate use of bicycle services.

The Toronto Cycling Committee endorses this program and acts as an advisor to
City Council.
