Social development strategy community consultation report to be released

Community & Neighbourhood Services -- The City of Toronto's 2001
budget process raised many questions about how Toronto's quality of life can be
preserved and about which City services should be priorities. A new report
contains some of the answers.

Preserving Our Civic Legacy is the report on a community consultation on social
development conducted by the Community Social Planning Council of Toronto for
the City of Toronto. It describes the findings of a city-wide series of
consultation sessions involving more than 265 community leaders and service
providers.

The report will be released at a news conference.

Date: Thursday, May 10
Time: 2 p.m.
Place: Meeting Room C, 2nd floor, Toronto City Hall, 100 Queen St. West

Participating in the news conference will be Councillor Irene Jones, chair of
the Social Development Strategy Steering Committee, and Professor Marvyn
Novick, consultant to the Community Social Planning Council of Toronto.
