Media Advisory - Scheduled opening of Rexdale dental clinic threatened by budget cuts
Toronto Public Health --- Councillor Joe Mihevc, Chair of the Board of
Health, will host a media briefing tomorrow at the Rexdale Community Health
Centre in Etobicoke. Staff at the health centre and residents from the
community will join Councillor Mihevc to express their dismay at the possible
cancellation of the scheduled opening of the community's dental clinic.

The newly constructed Rexdale clinic is scheduled to open April 30 and patients
have been booked for that day. As a result of a recommendation from the City's
Budget Advisory Committee, this clinic, along with 11 others in the city, may
have to close before it opens. The Rexdale clinic was built with provincial
funds and is designed to service 3,500 low-income children and seniors.
