Public invited to submit new community council names
The public is invited to submit name suggestions for each of the new community
councils established for the 44-ward system. The new names will replace the
interim names assigned by the previous City Council. Names will be selected
based on the following considerations:

1. Names should reflect the historical context associated with the community
council jurisdiction.
2. Names should reflect the communities and neighbourhoods that make-up the
community council jurisdiction.
3. Names should reflect the geographic nature of the community council
4. Names should be as familiar, logical and understandable to the public as

Submissions should be forwarded no later than February 9, 2001 to the
respective community council contact noted below. Submissions will be
considered at the next community council meetings.
