Media Advisory: First annual Toronto Food Action Awards for community volunteers celebrate food solutions
In response to one of the recommendations of the Food and Hunger Action
Committee, the City of Toronto is hosting the First Annual Food Action Awards
to honour the unsung volunteer heroes who have contributed to ensuring
Torontonians have a safe, affordable and nutritious supply of food.

Award winners will be honoured for Lifetime Achievement, Innovative
Achievement, Outstanding Achievement and Neighbourhood Achievement.

Award winners range from students to senior citizens, and activities range from
cooking meals for hundreds of people to building new community gardens.

Date: Tuesday, November 6

Time: 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.

Location: Metro Hall
Council Chamber, 2nd floor
55 John Street

Note: Award winners and Toronto Councillors who serve on the Food and Hunger
Action Committee will be available for interviews following the award ceremony.
