Media Advisory: Toronto residents join together in Sunday peace vigil
  
The horror and devastation of recent events requires a renewal of faith in the
Canadian way. Please join faith and justice leaders, including the Honourable
Roy R. McMurtry, Chief Justice of Ontario, the Honourable Art Eggleton,
Minister of National Defence, and the Honourable David Young, Attorney General,
in a peace presentation by children from all faiths from across the city.


Date: Sunday, September 23

Time: 3 to 4 p.m.

Place: Metro Hall Square (King Street at John Street)


Organizations and key members participating:
President of the Progressive Muslims of Ontario - Mobeen Khaja
President of the Palestine House - Rashad Saleh
President of the Hindu Campus Ministry - Pandit Suraj Persad
Imam Syed m. Rizvi - the Jaffari Islamic Centre
Representatives from the Afghan Association of Ontario
Temple Sinai - Rabbi Jordan Pearlson

Many other faith and communal groups will be in attendance. A child or youth
from each group will be invited to read a peace passage from their respective
books of worship. Members of the public are invited to attend.
