City of Toronto extends best wishes to HMCS Toronto
  
Toronto City Council today unanimously extended best wishes and support to the
crew of Her Majesty's Canadian Ship, Toronto.

The Canadian Patrol Frigate HMCS Toronto sailed on December 5 with 220 crew and
is Canada's contribution to NATO's Standing Naval Force Atlantic. HMCS Toronto
will be operating in the Eastern Mediterranean to enhance security in the
Middle East.

"Everyone is proud of the contribution HMCS Toronto is making in the war on
terrorism," said Councillor Chris Korwin-Kuczynski. "Toronto City Council
encourages residents to extend their support and best wishes to the crew of
HMCS Toronto by posting a message on the Department of National Defence's Web
site at www.forces.ca
under the 'Write to the Troops' icon."

The public can send postcards to the following address:

PO Box 99000 Stn. Forces
Halifax, NS B3K 5X5

The postal service cannot accept envelopes or parcels from the general public
due to current safety and security concerns.
