Michael Tziretas wins by-election in Ward 31, Beaches-East York
  
Michael Tziretas is the new City Councillor for Ward 31, Beaches-East York,
having received 3,932 votes in today's by-election. The term of office ends
November 30, 2003.

The by-election filled a vacancy on City Council left by Michael Prue who was
elected to the Ontario Legislature on September 20.

Voter turnout was 10,799 or 28.26 per cent. There were 11 candidates and 38,213
eligible voters in today's by-election. The official results are as follows:
