Media Advisory: Coaching for Excellence program recognizes new generation of leadership

Coaching for Excellence is a partnership project of Toronto Parks and
Recreation, TO-2008 Olympic Bid Corporation, Nike Canada, and the Sport
Alliance of Ontario. Successful completion of the program enables participants
to obtain their Level One National Coaching Certificates.

The ceremony will recognize 46 participants, aged 16 to 24 years, who
successfully completed the program in 2000. The event will be presided over by
representatives from the partner organizations. Two special guest speakers will
be featured: Karen Hughes, head coach of the women's hockey team at the
University of Toronto and an assistant coach with the Canadian women's ice
hockey team, and Bob Zuffelato, director of basketball operations for the
Toronto Raptors.
