Toronto Public Health launches 416-338-PAWS
  
Toronto Public Health - Toronto Public Health is launching a new,
24-hour city-wide information line for animal services. Effective April 1, the
public can call 416-338-PAWS (416-338-7297) for the following
services:
  • To adopt an animal
  • To look for a lost pet
  • To report a stray or injured animal
  • To obtain information about the animal shelter nearest you

As of April 1, stray animals found in the downtown area will now be sheltered
in one of the city's four animal shelters in North York, Scarborough, Etobicoke
or York. This service was previously provided by the Toronto Humane Society
under contract with the City of Toronto.

The public should call 416-338-PAWS to report stray animals. Members of the
public can also visit one of the following animal shelters:

Former Etobicoke:
146 The East Mall (Highway 427 and Dundas)
Monday to Friday 7:45 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Adoption hours: 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Sundays and holidays, closed

Former North York:
1300 Sheppard Avenue West (Sheppard and Keele)
Monday to Friday 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Adoption hours: 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Saturday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Sundays and holidays, closed

Former Scarborough:
821 Progress Avenue (Highway 401 at Markham Road)
Monday to Friday 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Adoption hours: 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Saturday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Adoption hours: 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Sundays and holidays, closed

Former York:
2700 Eglinton Avenue West (Eglinton and Keele)
Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Adoption hours: 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Saturday 11a.m. to 1 p.m.
Sundays and holidays, closed

Former City of Toronto:
19 River Street (Queen and River)
Administration office, not a shelter
Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
