Media Advisory: Emotions run high at Toronto Youth Games medal presentations
  
Parks and Recreation -- Members of the media are invited to witness the success
of Toronto's young athletes at today's closing ceremonies of the Toronto Youth
Games 2001. During this weekend's two-day event, Toronto athletes between the
ages of 13 and 16 years are competing in a variety of sports including
volleyball, pentathlon, wheelchair basketball, swimming and a relay race.

The closing ceremonies will be highlighted by medal presentations to the first,
second and third-placing teams, as well as the presentation of the Team Spirit
Awards to the participants who best demonstrate the Toronto Youth Games' spirit
of friendship and good sportsmanship.

The Toronto Youth Games are a project of Toronto Parks and Recreation with the
generous support of T. Litzen Sports Ltd., Pepsi, Nike, and Kinko's.

Closing Ceremonies
Date: Sunday, August 12
Time: 3:30 p.m.
Place: Toronto Track and Field Centre at York University
