Toronto Fire Services to present rescue and merit awards
Toronto Fire Services will hold its annual Rescue and Merit Awards ceremony tomorrow evening to recognize efforts “above and beyond the call of duty." Fire Chief Matthew Pegg will present the awards.

Date: Wednesday, March 7
Time: 7 p.m.
Location: Toronto Fire/EMS Training Centre, 895 Eastern Ave.

The recipients, including members of the public as well as staff of Toronto Fire Services, were involved in a variety of dramatic rescues in 2016 and 2017. The rescues included actions taken at a car fire, the rescue of a woman who was stranded high up on a construction crane and actions taken in aid of an unconscious firefighter.
