Celebrating manufacturing and technology in Scarborough
Councillor Michael Thompson (Ward 37 Scarborough Centre), Chair of the City’s Economic Development Committee, will be joined by more than 20 Scarborough based manufacturing and technology companies, service providers and educators to demonstrate the vitality of these sectors in a public showcase and presentation to Scarborough Community Council.

Location: Scarborough Civic Centre, 150 Borough Dr.

Part of Workforce Development Month, Celebrating Manufacturing and Technology in Scarborough – Opportunities for the Future will highlight the variety of these companies and their importance to the economy.

After the opening remarks, Councillor Thompson will be joined at Scarborough Community Council by three speakers at Scarborough Community Council who will talk about their businesses, why manufacturing and technology matters and how they can assist with youth unemployment. The speakers include Jocelyn Williams, Automatic Coating Ltd.; Brad Bourne, Firan Technology Group; and Ralph Idems, CIVIQ Smartscapes.
