City of Toronto to celebrate new Driftwood Parkette playground
More than 200 volunteers will join Councillor Anthony Perruzza (Ward 8 York West) to build a new community-designed playground at Driftwood Parkette. The City partnered with Foresters Financial, KaBOOM! and many local residents and organizations to give children in the area the childhood they deserve by building a new playground based on children’s drawings and consultation with local children and their parents.

Date: Saturday, August 13
Times (approximate):
8:30 to 9 a.m. – Kickoff ceremony and volunteer deployment
11 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Best viewing of playground construction
1 to 2:30 p.m. – Final construction phase
2:30 to 3 p.m. – Ribbon-cutting ceremony to dedicate playground
Location: Driftwood Parkette, 359 Driftwood Ave. (in the vicinity of Jane and Finch)
