City of Toronto extends hours at six pools to help residents cool off during Extended Heat Warning
Following today's announcement of an Extended Heat Warning by Dr. David McKeown, Toronto's Medical Officer of Health, the City has announced that extended pool hours are now in effect.

The following six outdoor pools will be open until 11:45 p.m. tonight, weather permitting:

• Alexandra Park, 275 Bathurst St.
• Giovanni Caboto, 1369 St. Clair Ave. W.
• Greenwood Park, 150 Greenwood Ave.
• McGregor Park, 2231 Lawrence Ave. E.
• Smithfield, 175 Mount Olive Dr.
• Sunnyside Gus Ryder, 1755 Lake Shore Blvd. W.

Media requests for filming at pools can be accommodated at McGregor Park and Sunnyside Gus Ryder outdoor pools. These two locations will allow media to film from the pool deck. Media access will only be allowed at these locations and media must follow the instructions of staff at the site. Media can go directly to the site and do not need to call in advance.

More information about Extended Heat Warnings is available at

An Extended Heat Warning does not automatically result in extended pool hours. Decisions to extend pool hours are made daily while an Extended Heat Warning is in place, based on weather risks and resource availability.
