Big City Mayors to host housing roundtables
The mayors of Toronto, Vancouver and Edmonton will participate in a Day of Housing on Monday, October 17, hosting individual roundtables to discuss issues related to the ongoing housing crisis in Canadian cities and its impact on jobs and economic growth.

Toronto Mayor John Tory and Mayor Gregor Robertson of Vancouver will meet with young residents, in their respective cities, struggling to buy and rent in increasingly expensive housing markets. Edmonton Mayor Don Iveson will meet with Edmonton residents to discuss combating homelessness.

The Day of Housing roundtables follow on the heels of the Toronto Housing Summit, where Big City Mayors presented seven housing principles for the federal government to consider as part of their development of a National Housing Strategy. These principles included federal action to spark construction and growth in the rental sector, and a commitment to end homelessness.

The following is the time and location of each roundtable on October 17.
